Child Abuse Prevention Council of Warren County operates four programs.

1. Learn & Play Group

The Learn & Play Group Curriculum™ provides a developmentally appropriate structure for use in playgroups and early childhood programs for parents and their children ages 0-5. Program goals include promoting social, emotional, and language development; providing parents with information regarding child development and early care; linking families to services and resources; and providing an environment to promote friendships and mutual support of parents and children.

2. Parent Café

Parent Cafés are a method of facilitating meaningful, reflective conversations that promote parent leadership and collaboration. Parent Cafés provide a safe, non-judgmental opportunity for parents and caregivers to build their protective factors while engaging in conversations about what it means to keep their children safe and families strong. Parent Cafés are structured around questions related to each of the five Strengthening Families protective factors.

3. Stewards of Children

Sexual abuse prevention training for adults and caregivers. The only nationally available program scientifically proven to increase knowledge, improve attitudes and change child-protective behaviors. Appropriate for any adult, this training will teach you how to prevent, recognize, and react responsibly to child sexual abuse. In fact, 1 in 10 children will experience sexual abuse before their 18th birthday.

This means whether you work with youth, are a parent or simply a member of a community, it is highly likely that someone you know or care for has experienced, or is currently experiencing, child sexual abuse. It’s going to happen whether you are prepared to deal with it or not – unless you stop it from happening. And the good news, it can be stopped.

4. 24/7 Dad

Developed by fathering and parenting experts, 24/7 Dad™ focuses on the characteristics that men need to be involved fathers 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. This community-based program helps men develop the attitudes, knowledge and skills they need to get – and stay – involved with their children. 24/7 Dad™ focuses on key fathering characteristics like masculinity, discipline and work/family balance. The program helps men evaluate their parenting skills, as well as their fathering role models.

Funding made possible by Theisen’s “More for Your Community” Program.
